I got it to carry in my purse, but to have to bring along a brush or makeup pad makes it inconvenient defeating the purpose of a convenient carry compact. This was pretty easy to install. My application I needed to swap the mounting hardware around so the threads for the mounting bracket faced the same way as the fan shaft, but otherwise it worked out great. One thing that isn’t mentioned is the shaft is splined, and the opening in the fan blade is slightly undersized for the shaft, so you have to forcibly mash the fan onto the shaft, at least that is what I assume you have to do since there are no instructions included. It works great once I installed it, so overall I am happy.

This fit (perfectly) an old Nutone bathroom vent fan. Rotation was correct, AC cord right length, direct bolt in. Excellent overall. Thanks.

I needed to replace a bathroom fan in our mobile home. After looking at the old one I was able to match this one with it. After removing the old fan and installing this one I found that the stem of the motor was a bit too long and the ceiling cover would not sit flush with the ceiling. I looked again at the shaft of this motor and found that it was actually scored if you needed to cut it a bit shorter. I cut it with a hack saw right at the score, re-installed it, and everything closed up perfectly. The cover is now flush with the ceiling and it’s been working fine since then.

I purchased (2) of these for replacing my older, worn out vent fans in a modular home as the older ones were rattling, dirty, and incredibly loud. This unit mounted right into the existing vent fan space, no modifications required. The fan is much quieter than my older, worn out vent fans.I have (2) minor complaints on these fans; 1. The fans do not pull nearly as much volume of air (CFM) as the existing fans that were in service here. and 2. The threaded ends for vent cover plates use a smaller thread/fastener size than the off-the-shelf components available. Make sure you keep your old vent cover screws/nuts and check the thread sizing to ensure that you can mount new covers adequately.

This is the correct size and it works well!

This was a perfect replacement for an old motor and very easy to replace.Very happy so far – but I would recommend this.

I am writing this review to help others who is looking for the NuTone 668RP exhaust fan motor. I looked at others that specifically had the 668 model number but none that said 668RP. I think the others may have worked fine (and some reviewers had stated that fact) but most of them did not stack up with the right specs. First, I took the old fan motor out of it’s housing and brought it in my room for measurements. I chose this one because the shaft was 1 3/4 inches instead of the 1 1/2 inches on most of the other ones I looked at. Also, and most important, this one gave me the specs for the space between the bolts that attach to the housing which was exactly 1 7/8. And while the other ones may have the same dimensions, I did not know how to calculate their measurements with the numbers they gave.The fan works great and fit perfectly. I do not think it is very loud and I have only had it in one day but my wife ran it for a few hours. I am not trying to convince anyone to buy this particular brand as I just wanted to let anyone who is looking that this was a great replacement that fit perfectly. If it does not last or I have problems like a few others (in every review as someone always gets a bad apple), then I will update this review.If you are having any trouble putting the fan blade on as others have remarked on this and other exhaust fans, you just have to be patient and keep working at it. I found the easiest way was to put the motor in a vice (as the sides are flat and strong) and to line up the fan blade with the slot in the shaft; then I took a large socket and put it on top of the fan blade and hit it gently but firmly with a rubber mallet. It was really easy and went on without a hitch. I did hit it a few more times really easily so that the fan looked like it lined up with the dust marks of the old fan. It would have worked either way but I wanted it to be exactly the same.This fan cost a few dollars more but fit my specifications exactly. Others may work just as well but I paid a little extra because I knew it would fit perfectly. My biggest worry was that the gap between the mounting screws or bolts would be too large or too small. So if there is other fan motors out there that fit this well, please give us the specifications in inches so that we can make the proper comparisons. I am not be a math genius and some of the numbers from others did not convert as millimeters or centimeters. So I was lost and it may be something really simple, however, I have been out of school for some time.Again, I hope this review helps someone to make sure they get the right part. Now that I put this one together, I believe the 1.5 shaft would have also worked as there is plenty of clearance; but I am glad I went by the one with the same specifications. My old fan died. I got this, put it in, and it worked great and is not too loud either!

After repeated bad luck ordering a similar motor twice from another seller, this one was a winner. It’s fairly quiet, installation was a breeze, and so far it performs well. It was a perfect replacement fit for my ancient Nutone/Broan model 694 bathroom fan.

The Broan 678 was built to maintenance the motor, or replace it from the room it’s in. This motor works perfectly. I have a low pitch roof and working from the attic is impossible. This was so easy to do. And cheap. Good as new.
