I’m not entirely sure whether the bottle of this that I purchased was adversely affected by storage or transport or something since I ordered it from a discount supplier in Taiwan and the bottle arrived missing about half of its contents… but it smelled really awful. Nothing at all like espresso, unless by “espresso” you mean a moldy compost heap of week-old rotting coffee grounds. The smell was very unpleasant. I was extremely disappointed as I’d had very high hopes for this one.

The scent is spot-on and really captures the intoxicating aroma of freshly-brewed strong, dark, coffee. When you initially spray it, it has a strong odor of alcohol, but that fades quickly into just coffee. The scent is very pure — no sugar, cream, vanilla, hazelnut or other overtones — it’s just coffee. I think the aroma is perfect, and would be perfect for layering with other Demeter scents, particularly woodsy scents or vanilla scents.The reason I gave this four stars instead of five — the fragrance does not last at all. Seriously, five minutes after I spray it about ten times, I’m ready for more. I’ve found that this is typical for Demeter — most Demeter fragrances lack any lasting power. But that is part of their appeal — as you can mix them and use them more liberally than more more traditional (and expensive) perfumes, and you can mix and match to create your own scents. And because of the quick fade, the aromas are never overwhelming or overpowering. If I spray this around my cuffs or collar, I can catch a whiff of the fragrance on occasion. It’s a nice pick me up.I would definitely try this fragrance again — I might try the roll-on perfume oil version to see if it has a little more lasting power.

One of my favorite Demeter fragrances. I originally tried a smaller sample via Demeter’s website and I knew I had to purchase a full bottle ASAP. It smells exactly like fresh espresso, with a unique hint of chocolate and vanilla lightly blended in. This fragrance can be a bit heavy so be careful of how you apply it. Definitely a fantastic evening scent that can be worn all year round but especially in the autumn and winter seasons. You will not regret trying this fragrance!!

This products “fragrance” is nothing like espresso coffee. I can detect an espresso type smell when I first spray on my wrist. There is a strong under scent or carrier of aroma that becomes overpowering. I have detected this scent in other demeter spraysIf you want a coffee or espresso aroma, don’t bother with this product, save your money. There are no returns on this product…
