I recently cut my 2c coarse frizzy hair eleven inches. My hair now comes up to my shoulders and looks like a triangle bob when curly. Stupid me thought I could iron it every day. Dumb idea. After a month of ironing/blowdrying my hair every other day (with heat protector), my hair lost ALL its shine and barely holds a straightening. I didn’t want to spend $300 on a permanent salon straightening, so I looked into many different options. It came down to an at-home keratin straightening with a full kit or this. I decided to try this, as it didn’t seem nearly as harsh as the other one; I was scared an at-home permanent straightening could make my hair fall out. This seemed pretty idiot-proof :)~EXPECTATIONS:Most of the reviews seemed to suggest that this was the miracle in a bottle I was looking for, but I was a little skeptical. It was only sold on Amazon and the Chi website, and I couldn’t find reviews anywhere other than Amazon, which was both a little odd to me. No Youtube reviews or beauty blog posts on this product. I expected:1) Softer silkier hair – due to the keratin2) Straightening with flat irons and blowdrys that last longer3) Heavier hair – also due to the keratin 🙂 Keratin builds up on hair and can weigh it down, so I did buy a clarifying shampoo to go with it.~HOW IT WORKED FOR ME:Holy cow! This was AMAZING. It did everything I expected, and more. I put it in freshly washed, mostly dry hair, even though instructions say to use it on damp hair. I also used a LOT, putting on each section of hair as I blew it, and my hair didn’t feel heavy at all. As soon as I blew it, I noticed a massive difference. Firstly, it was baby soft! It was like different hair. Second, it made blowing my hair ten times quicker, and my hair didn’t get as puffy as it normally did. I didn’t even need to iron it, but I did, mainly because I wanted it to last at least 3 days (to minimize heat use). The only ‘bad’ thing about this is that it smells a little like soap, but its very faint. To people wondering if this protects hair from heat, it doesn’t. It’s a treatment, not a heat protectant – I used a heat spray after blowing/before ironing. This works great in humidity, terrible in rain (duh). The longest I’ve gone without washing it out was 5 days, and I only needed to touch up the ends once, but beware of oily hair *-* I use this now twice a week, and it works amazing. If your hair starts to feel greasy after a few uses, it’s normal! Keratin is a great protein for hair, but too much can weigh down hair, especially fine hair, so make sure to incorporate a clarifying shampoo into your routine.~PRODUCTS I USE:Shampoo – giovanni tea tree triple treat shampoo (clarifies and removes buildup) // Conditioner – aussie miracles moist 3 minute deep conditioner // Heat Protector – tresemme heat tamer spray // Leave-in Conditioner – garnier fructis curl air dry cream

I buy this hairspray on repeat because it’s my favorite.
Pam Meadows –
Light weight, not stiff or sticky and great hold
Libby Green –
I have used Chi products for 15 years.Iron gaurd is a favorite so I thought I would try this spray, too. I am on my 2nd can. It holds but isn’t stiff and brushes out. The scent isn’t a heavy one.
Claire –
I purchased this because of the description that it smooths hair. It smells very nice. It does help with smoothing my hair while blow drying. I will most likely purchase again.

My greying hair is getting frizzier with age. I can’t afford salon keratin treatments. This works wonders for my hair. I can sleep on my styled hair and don’t have to do much in the morning to make it presentable. I’m super happy.
Soraya –
I have 3c/4a hair and I can definitely tell a difference. My hair comes out way more smooth and straight when I add this to my routine. Buy it!

Came pretty quickly but cap was crushed when I received it. Things happen and I will reach out to exchange it. Otherwise, I am a repeat buyer of this product.

I have very curly/frizzy (caucasian) hair. For a while, I was straightening it every day and started using CHI Keratin to help smooth it out in conjunction with a blow-dry. With the application of heat, this product did help smooth it out and made my hair feel VERY soft, almost silky. I only used it about 2-3 times per week. Eventually I quit straightening/blow drying my hair and let it go naturally curly, but kept using the Keratin out of habit. I found that with air drying (no heat), the product did not interfere with the curl yet still made my hair feel very soft. I wouldn’t say it makes my curls smooth- I use another product for that- but when I don’t use the CHI Keratin, my hair definitely feels more coarse/wiry. When the price significantly increased, I tried several other products thinking there must be something specifically for curly hair that would do the same or even better job… 8 trial and errors later, I went back to the CHI- I hope they never stop making this product- it’s worth every penny!

If you have fine hair that doesn’t hold a style for more than 30 minutes, this spray is wonderful!

I live in the Deep South and humidity is horrible. I also have fine hair that’s consistently dyed and bleached every seven weeks or so. I’m always looking for products to fight humidity and to also stop my hair from being so dry from the processing. I bought this a few months ago and finally tried it a few days ago. I can’t believe it actually worked. It made my hair feel smooth and silky, no dryness in my ends and kept it sleek even after sleeping on it and through the humidity that has come with all the rain. It might only last a few days at a time but you can’t expect it to last for weeks. I highly recommend it.

Great hold. Smells awesome. Never sticky. Holds up well in humidity. I have been using this product for about 2 years. I LOVE IT! I switched from Kenra 25 to this Chi and it far exceeds what Kenra 25 does for my hair

The hold is remarkable! I ride with the windows down, depending on the trip length, I come through with a still nice style. It has a nice, but not over powering scent. It never looks as if I’m wearing a shellac helmet…

Love the smell of this product. It helps get rid of frizz and define my curls. I like the light weight of it. Great value for the money.

I was having issues with my hair always feeling dry (I am on well water) I read reviews on this product and used it for the first time. I followed the directions and put some in my hand, ran it through my towel dried hair. I did find my hair took a bit longer to dry, but it is so soft and silky smooth. I highly recommend this product to get your hair soft/smooth.

This hairspray smells so good! It’s a nice light, flexible hold and does help with volume. It doesn’t leave residue or buildup. Will definitely be purchasing again!

I don’t know why I ever stopped using CHI products. I forgot about the great quality, in this non greasy oil. Leaves my hair very soft and manageable. He hair feels hydrated and healthy.

I love the smell, hold and light feel of this spray. It also adds shine without stickiness to my hair. I haven’t had any problems with the nozzle clogging at all, it sprays great! For the size, the price was definitely worth it! Would recommend!
