I do curly girl for my wavy/curly hair. It works beautifully and provides the best cast of any gel I’ve tried. I have fine medium porosity type hair, 2a to 2c hair sections. Works best with product underneath it. Prefer using with a curling custard. Highly recommend!

I just started curly girl method & have been trying out new products. 2b hair, quite fine, medium density, medium porosity (I think?)- always worry products weighing it down. This gel is the first gel that’s both given me a cast at all & also has been great for definition of my curls. Included a before cgm and after cgm picture, most recent with this gel which is now my favorite product so far.

I’ve been on the quest for the perfect combo of CG approved products for the last bunch of years. I used to use the line of Deva, Products, but experienced hair loss that I assumed was hormonal, but then realized might have been cause by the deva hair products. I stopped using most of the Deva products, but had a really hard time finding a gel I liked as much as their ultra defining gel…it’s been a long quest, but after reading about the combo of this product and curls blueberry bliss leave in conditioner…and pow!!! It’s the perfect combo for my 3A high porosity, but thin hair. My curls are shiny and bouncy, and I’m on day 2 between washes and my hair still looks pretty good. YAY for finding this product!! AND it’s well priced to boot. Hooray!

I’ve been using this gel for more than 20 years and it’s always a product you can count on despite a few changes along the way.The hold is super strong and reliable. If you froth the gel in between your hands and then add a smidge of water, you’ll get a white creme which adds more volume to hair or helps make thicker looking clumps of hair for a more vibrant look. It will dry clear. It’s best to blow dry while using Nexxus Maxximum Hold Hair Mist spray. These two products combined will truly give you a rock-hard finish that can go through hurricane winds and not budge.Also, product will not flake onto your clothes at all unless there’s a ‘significant’ amount of rubbing of the hair against something. Else this will never be an issue.Something I must warn you about this gel is that if you use it daily like I have for so long, it’s important that you SUPER RINSE your hands throughly as it’s so dense it’s hard to come off. If you don’t rinse real well for like at least 30 seconds to a minute until you fell nothing slippery in your hands, it’s possible you’ll get waxy clear callus-like tiny blisters (like 1mm or 2mm). They are completely harmless, but there’s no need to get them. I’m not 100% sure this how I got them, but I’m 90% (I saw multiple Dermatolgists who diagnosed them, and said they are common collagen buildup and this product has collagen). But again, I had been leaving product residue in my palms for at least 10 years from rushing to get to work in the mornings – I was in early 20’s when I started using this.

This is a very strong gel. I have fine thin hair cut in a short pixie and this gel gives me perfect lift and volume on the top. I never would have thought to use this for my cut because I assumed it would weigh down my hair but thanks to my hairdresser I found this. It’s amazing and day two and three all I do is mist my hair with water and comb and it looks great all the time. Highly recommend.

It works great. You don’t need to use a lot and make sure hair look wet, but not hard and not to wet just right. doesn’t give you dandruff smells good goes on good. I’ve used so many different things and this is by far the best. Give it a try.

I have been struggling to find a gel that will give last hold and definition to my soft, fine, wavy (2b/2c) hair, but this stuff delivers! I get great results on wash day and it refreshes easily with a little spritz of water.You do need to emulsify well with a little water before applying it and, crucially, scrunch out the crunch when it is dry! Otherwise your results may not be great

I’ve been using this product for a few years since I started styling my hair more naturally, it’s a great hard hold gel that lightweight finer texture wavy haired people can use. It gives my hair a great cast and holds my waves for a days. I also use it for my boys hair and it keeps my active 4 & 5 year old sons’ hair in place all day.Pros: solid cast, great for finer hair textures, use sparsely for best results, no weird scents and can be used for any gender.Cons: very sticky consistency and needs to be emulsified with water before using, and if you use too much it can leave flakes in your hair
