Men’s Shampoo by American Crew, Moisturizing Shampoo for Oily Hair, 8.45 Fl Oz

I’ve been using American Crew Daily Shampoo for over 10 years now. It doesn’t have a strong fragrance (which is what I prefer) to it and it doesn’t have the typical shampoo residue that many others have. It also doesn’t lather up really foamy but it still gets the job done. It also leaves your head and hair feeling really cool and fresh feeling.Recently though, it has been very difficult to find this product anywhere. Yes, the formula has changed (I still have a bottle of the previous Classic Daily Shampoo and compared the formula). However, they both smell nearly the same and as noted above, gets the job done.I notice that there are many different Marketplace sellers of the product (I got mine from BEAUTY IT IS). I bought the 8.45oz bottle just to see and am very satisfied with the new formula. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are probably fake versions of the product as well as the possibility that some sellers may have been swapping the actual contents with some cheaper stuff. I always note the actual seller I bought my stuff from when there are multiple sellers in my reviews

This shampoo had very little lather and no real scent. I guess it worked but not really sure. I think there’s better alternatives out there.

When it came, there was shampoo in the bag. There wasn’t a safety seal & it looked used like there was obvious usage through the pour cap. I’m not thrilled about that at all. So minus 1 star for that. I should have taken a picture of how sloppy it looked but I wanted to clean it up & be done. For almost $10 for 8oz, I’m upset about how it was sent!I do order my Chi shampoo from Amazon & it always comes sealed & wrapped.The first use seemed like it was hard to get it to lather. It seemed like it was drying my hair as I tried to wash it. I’ve never used anything like this before so maybe this is normal?? I used it twice so far. The second time I used it seemed a little easier but I did use a little more this time.It does seem to make my hair feel less oily. I usually use Chi exfoliating shampoo which helped for quite some time. I have heard that you’ll need to change shampoos after using for a while because your hair gets used to it.I did get my hair highlighted the day before it was delivered. I am relieved that it’s safe for color treated hair. It actually made my highlights better looking!Over all, so far it’s making my hair feel better. I’m able to go longer without washing my hair. I had to start washing it every other day, sometimes every day with my Chi shampoo. I have been now every other day…it may get even better. I’ll try to remember to update y’all. If I choose to stick with this product, I hope it comes not used next time. I saw tons of great reviews on this, that’s why I got it.If it came properly sealed or at least not used, I’d probably give it 5 stars.

I don’t know how I lived without this shampoo. This is already my second repurchase and I am about to buy more. I have silky fine hip length hair and extra super oily skin and scalp. That means my hair absorbs oils in no time so I am doomed to live with my hair in a bun. No matter what this “train your hair and even you can go a week without washing your hair gurus say.” No. Oiliness doesn’t magically stop on my hairline despite my wishes. Nothing stops my skin producing oils, apart from accutane. My skin is producing so much oil that I could fry a dinner for the whole family by the end of the day. By washing less frequently I only get an itchy and irritated scalp.This shampoo is a game changer for me. I use two rounds of shampooing, first one is to break the worst grease and dry shampoo residues, 2nd one is to actually clean my hair. I always let it sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing out. This shampoo makes my hair squeaky clean without tangling my lengths into one giant dreadlock. After using this shampoo my scalp feels clean, the same way medical shampoo does. And since I have to wash my hair frequently, this does the job equally well for less money. I feel like I found an unicorn. This shampoo doesn’t magically turn my oily skin and scalp to normal, but cleans my scalp and hair really well. All I could ever ask for. Not all shampoos cleans truly oily hair well, but this one does. This shampoo has a pleasant smell. I also love the accompanying hair conditioner.
