Caution…if you have light hair or highlights this is going to be more of a longer term committment. I used it over a month ago on blondish highlighted hair and the results were….. Extremely bright red! But i liked it . So this stuff is very very very very very intense, I would definitely suggest it for gals who are already red it will definitely embellish and enhance and just be simply stunning.

I love this conditioner for keeping my color bright and fresh between salon visits. I’m never one to be too much on directions, so I actually like to put this on my hair DRY. Be sure to use gloves. It will stain. A shower cap is also helpful. Then, I take my shower as usual and rinse my hair last with cool water. Once a week is all you need to look like you just came from the salon. Highly recommend!!

I’ve been using this brand of Mahogany Red conditioner twice a week after I wash my hair for about 6 months now on my already red dyed hair. It does well to keep the color fresh and bright. However, it is not a very effective conditioner and my fine hair dries out very easily especially when I apply daily heat while styling. To combat this, I condition my hair with my normal conditioner twice a week, about 2 days after I use this product. Also, this product is extremely pigmented and can temporarily stain your scalp and hands. Depending on how much pigment you want to deposit into your hair, you can change how you use this product. To deposit more color (maybe an initial application to completelychange your hair color), I apply it to my DRY hair and let it sit for the duration of my shower (20 min or so) then rinse in cold water without shampooing. If you’re on more of a maintenance routine to enhance an existing red, I dilute this conditioner with my normal conditioner with about 1/3 regular conditioner and 2/3 color conditioner by mixing it in my hand before application. This also helps to improve the conditioning ability of this product. I know this sounds a little complicated, but I really enjoy the shade of red this conditioner deposits into my hair and I don’t mind the routine. The smell isn’t the best, but again, my regular conditioner improves it. The worst side effect is that when I work out at the gym and sweat, the red dye drips onto my face and clothing and can be embarrassing, but I’m sure that’s with any coloring product. Overall, it’s definitely worth the price and does it’s job as a color depositing product.

I’m growing out my gray hair, after years of using permanent hair dyes to conceal the gray. But, I don’t want a harsh line where the gray roots begin. You know, that “Oh, poor thing, she’s letting herself go…” kind of look. So, I’m using this conditioner at least every second time I shampoo my hair. (I usually wash my hair daily.) And, about once a week, I wash my hair, then apply this coloring conditioner to the roots, and leave it on for about 30 minutes before rinsing out. That gives me maximum coverage.I love the effect. The gray is there, but not super-obvious. There’s no harsh line where the un-dyed roots meet the permanently colored hair.I’d previously tried the Chi red auburn color, since that’s my hair color from when I was younger, and it’s the color I’ve been dying it. But the Chi red auburn color conditioner was too pinky-orange… not at all natural looking. However, it adhered to the gray far better than the Chi coffee bean color conditioner does, so it didn’t rinse out much. The problem was… well, auburn (dyed) hair + gray (growing out) + weird pinky-orange areas…? No. That looked bizarre. So, I switched to the coffee bean color, and I like it. It’s a good, medium shade of cool brown.I’ll need to keep using this product while the gray grows out, at least to a length I’m willing to cut. (My hair is past my shoulders, and frizzes if I cut it short. So, I expect to be using this Chi product for months and months.) I’m okay with that, as a tube of this conditioner seems to last for at least a month.More importantly, I’m delighted with the results. I wish it adhered just a little better to my gray hair, but it covers well enough – and looks natural (not all one, uniform color… that doesn’t fool anyone) – so I’ll keep using this product, happily. And, oh yes, I love how well it conditions my hair, without leaving a heavy fragrance, or a waxy/oily coating.

Great vibrant red conditioner and the smell is amazing! And I couldn’t believe how low the cost was!! I love EVERYTHING about this conditioner and the coverage is absolutely amazing but it does was out quite quickly, I know it’s not a permanent dye but I wish it would not start washing out after only 2 weeks!? But otherwise I absolutely love this conditioner! I would for sure recommend it for the price!NOTE: I did use this along with CHI Red Auburn Shampoo so it would probably be a little lighter red color if used alone.First picture is right after my first use, second picture is about a week later and third picture is about two and a half weeks later

This stuff is the real deal. It will stain your hair RED red in 5 minutes. I made the mistake of using it like a regular conditioner in the shower and not applying it in small sections and ensuring thorough coverage. I’ve used color depositing conditioners many many times and this one should be applied with care, not blindly in the shower. It’s a good product, but you have to use it carefully. It’s also just red. I was hoping it might have a little copper to it, but that’s not the case. My copper red hair is now streaky with red patches because I didn’t apply it carefully.

Omg omg omg!So i had fried my hair after dyeing it twice and that made my hair go thru A-LOT of bleaching! I tried everything to fix that disgusting brassy yellow tone I ended up with but nothing worked. The only thing that worked besides this product was the BRASS OFF blue shampoo! But i needed more, so i ordered this. First time use and i saw results IMMEDIATELY!!!! I shampooed with the blue shampoo, then towel dryed my hair then applied the chi illuminator and rinsed off in 5 min. Omg when i blew dried my hair I couldn’t believe my eyes!!!!! I don’t even look like myself anymore lol the color came back SO beautifully, my hair smells like HEAVEN and the moisturizing aspect is definitely there! Pls buy it if you love your hair lol.

Sure this might stain your shower or hands, but am I seriously the ONLY person who uses bleach spray??? The stains are instantly gone. If stubborn a magic eraser with bleach spray makes it disappear. It’s not that hard to remove. Critical thinking skills people. As for the fading too fast from your hair… maybe don’t wash and shampoo every single day. I shampoo my scalp once per week. Condition twice a week. Treat with this once a month. I use rosemary oil on my scalp and argan oil on the rest, it stays soft. I keep it in a braid when not going out. The color lasts if you take care of it. Quit abusing your hair if you want the color to last.My hair is rather naturally porous, and bleached under the red. The pH of this is a bit aggressive on my specific over processed hair, it requires pre-shower/treatment brushing, a cold rinse, a second cold rinse and conditioning to brush through the mushy tangled texture, followed by application of “One ‘n only argan oil treatment” on damp hair. Super soft and vibrant after this.Good luck out there ladies and not ladies.

2 WORDS! WEAR GLOVES!!!this stuff works! I thought it was going to be like any other red shampoo or conditioner, but I was wrong. It is extremely pigmented! I am going to use this weekly to keep up with my red dye and make it last longer while looking vibrant! I highly recommend this. FYI the girls at work thought I had dyed my hair again

This product is great!! I used the Coffee Bean. I got tired of dyeing my hair to cover the gray (I am 67). Within a couple of week my gray is back. I saw this and decided to give it a try. Not only was my brown hair shinier and brighter my gray was now a light golden brown and best of all it looks so natural. It looks like I have highlights!!! Love this stuff and I actually use less then my regular conditioner (I have long hair). I use it in the shower wash my hair first then apply the conditioner, finish my shower then rinse my hair. Give it a try if you don’t like it washes right out and doesn’t harm your hair, and your not out a lot of money. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

This color conditioner is amazing for touch ups. It does stain but the color is vibrant. Only con i would say is that they keep raising the price. I purchased this a couple months ago for $12 and it is now over $16. Last year in 2023 it was $11. Im not sure if it is worth $16 and sadly i may have to stop buying

Great all over color or use it with a hair color application brush as in the hair salon . Apply on roots like in the hair salon, comb through hair and get highlights & root coverage….. ITS A YES !
