Demeter Cologne Spray, Lilac, 4 Ounce

I’m a big fan of Demeter fragrances, and usually they get it just right. (Their Jasmine is flawless.) My favorite flower is Lilac, partially because of its hard-to-capture fragrance. This version is way too powder-y and musty. I almost gave it away, but then I gave it a second chance – once I set aside that it does NOT smell like Lilac, I realized I like it enough, it’s just not lilac.

After buying some of Mrs. Meyer’s Lilac scented cleaning supplies, (which smell exactly like lilacs), I was hoping to find a cologne or perfume that smelled just as good. I had bought the Demeter Jasmine scent in the past, and loved it, so I had high hopes for this one. It smells nothing at all like lilacs. Instead, it has a top note of pure alcohol, with a strong middle note of baby powder, followed by a base note of something that could possibly be floral, but it is gone too quickly for me to be able to distinguish it. I think it would be safe to say that it smells like Grandma’s dime store cologne.The bad part is that the seller doesn’t accept returns, so I’m stuck with it. I guess I will try to find a way to mix it with another cologne or diffuser oil or something.

My mother grew up in Montana, and her favorite flowers by far are mountain lilacs. The southern California climate just doesn’t support lilacs that are as fragrant, and so we are always on a search for something to get my mom that scent she loves. She definitely enjoyed this scent, as I know she used up most of the bottle, and she especially made sure to wear it the day I got married.

Smell is personal preference, so how can one be objective? You can’t. So with that in mind, this does/does not smell exactly like honeysuckle. Some days, it smells like they just picked the blooms, other days it will smell close, but you know it’s not. I will say I am very fussy about scent, and I love it so much, I bought another bottle. The scent will last hours, but not all day long. It is a very sweet smelling just as honeysuckle is, but for some, it may be too overbearing. I’ve gotten many compliments on the fragrance. I would defiantly recommend this product.

Great product. Been using these for a few years and they worked flawlessly. They never leak and if you follow the instructions and run 2 quarts of water when you install them, they have absolutely no aftertaste. The very easy to install. You just have to Google your refrigerator model and look up how to reset your filter reminder. Again this represents great value for your money.

Ok so I am a major migraine sufferer and I realize not everyone will be bothered by the same scents but this does not give me even a small headache! I am so pleased as it smells just like real honeysuckle and it could last longer but it does last a good 6 hours at least. I do use it a lot. I put it on my sheets also. I hope the manufacturer never changes this formula! I’m obsessed! I haven’t gotten any compliments yet but I haven’t been out too much.

It smells *a little* like lilac. Enough such that if I were to layer it with other lilac products it would work. But not exactly like lilacs, whatever it does smell like it so delicious. I absolutely love it! I can see this easily becoming my go to scent for everyday wear. I am a huge fan of Demeter scents. They have a lot of really nice scents

Love the authenticity of this scent………just like the bushes in NY spring! Not sure that it is so long lasting, though someone stopped me in a store and told me how good I smelled. Would definitely buy again!!

I used this for a good few days before writing a review. First, this has absolutely no staying power. Fades quickly. Smells like plastic chemicals mixed with an alcoholics breath directly from bottle. From the initial spray it smells like fake leather mixed with sweet artificial grape with a tiny hint of lilac somewhere. Once it dries and worn for a little bit it smells like a sweet artificial white grape juice with the weird chemical fake leather smell… the lilac scent is just an illusion masked in an overly artificial sweetener. The sweet smell fades to a sickly sweet smell but only you will notice it because of how quickly it fades to nothing. I’ve smelled other lilac products and this is extremely lacking in the floral freshness lilac has. It’s like wanting a grape to eat but getting artificial food coloring dollar store grape soda. It’s not really grape, just like this isn’t really lilac. I guess there is a tiny hint of lilac in there somewhere but not what I was hoping for. It doesn’t smell horrible, just sweet and grape-y-like. I will not be buying this ever again. Hope this helps
