My dishwasher had stopped working completely. No lights, nothing. Opening up the control panel, I tested the thermal switch for continuity and sure enough, it was open, meaning it had tripped. This replacement did the trick, and at a lower cost than other options. The instructions on replacing the fuse that came with this item were super-clear as well. Why pay more?

This kit replaces the blown thermal fuse in Whirlpool-made dishwashers. It also replaces the connectors to that blown fuse for unspecified reasons. Thus, some cutting and connecting into the existing wiring is required, but the directions are clear and Youtube vids are available. It is not difficult but a bit tedious, especially because the tie-wraps provided are a bit bulky. Installing this kit allowed me to resurrect my dead dishwasher for way less than a service call or a replacement dishwasher.

Great product. Been using these for a few years and they worked flawlessly. They never leak and if you follow the instructions and run 2 quarts of water when you install them, they have absolutely no aftertaste. The very easy to install. You just have to Google your refrigerator model and look up how to reset your filter reminder. Again this represents great value for your money.

I’m assuming that some city dweller created this one, because it smells like cut grass after it’s been laying in clumps for a couple days. Under that is kind of a dessert-y scent that I can’t quite place. It’s not a bad scent over all — I intend to keep wearing it — but it’s definitely not the smell of hay. It does last longer than several of the other Demeters I have.

What’s worse is that this morning I decided to go ahead and order another for a friend who also loves hay. I can’t cancel that order either. I used to love Amazon but here lately the customer service sucks and I’ve fallen victim to more than one scam on here.

If you dishwasher is completely dead (no lights, doesn’t respond to button presses), there’s a good chance that the thermal fuse opened up. It’s located behind the front control panel near the circuit board. With the power off check the fuse for continuity. If it is open, this is the fix. You may think that using the included wire harness is a waste of time. I’ve seen other commenters saying that they skipped the harness and then had the problem reoccur. I suspect that this is because the push-on connectors to the fuse become loose over time which causes the connection to heat up, which in turn causes the fuse to fail. So use the harness, it’s cheap insurance.
