It does have a vague leather smell to it but something is off about it. After wearing for a while it does eventually give off a much more leather scent but I can’t really put my finger on what smells off about it.Edit:I only got to use this a few times before finding the bottle was defective. It drained itself out making a mess even though it was upright. Any time I thought I fixed the bottle I only found it eventually drained out more until it became empty. This bottle emptied itself in an upright position right onto my shelf with barely any use out of it.

It is really unique spraying this, and as I move through the day I get whiffs of smoke and fire. And that would be similar to a barbecue or a beach bonfire. It is really unique to get those whiffs throughout the day. None of my family or co-workers have said anything about in response to how I smell yet. But if they do, I will come back and edit my review. To be honest, I am not sure I like it. But I use it and the rain one far more than the others. The scent of fresh air and fire is a very unique way to go through your day. It is a personal experience, that you really should try out. You never know.

I’ve tried many clove scented colognes over the years and I am most satisfied with this one. The scent is strong without being overpowering and if I wear the same piece of clothing (sweater) 2 days in a row, I don’t need to spray again. I will buy it again.

I hate the smell when it is first sprayed on. It smells almost like maple syrup but not in a good way. However, after 45 minutes or so it does start to smell like marshmallow. Having to sit in that smell for 45 minutes isn’t worth it to me, I won’t be buying again.
The Buddhist Witch –
It does smell like an almond cookie but it doesn’t linger/last with my body’s chemistry.

I was hoping to find a scent that evoked beeswax candles burning or just having been blown out, like BPAL’s No. 93 Engine. This smacked me in the face with really strong florals, instead – instant headache. My husband said the smell was “toxic”. Sadly, my skin chemistry blows up florals, so it only got worse. I smelled some really powdery honey as well, which just made the scent very sweet and floral. Not to my taste at all. Returned and will try another scent, maybe the clove.
Arroyo’s Creek –
I have never been disappointed with a Demeter before. I once sold them retail. This clove is not what it used to be. It smelled faintly clove-ish for precisely four seconds until the alcohol dried. My nose was accosted with what smells like soap gone rancid on a someone who hasn’t bathed since the Nixon administration. If cilantro had a love child with original Ivory soap and all lived together in a dumpster, they would smell just like this, only better. Not just yuck, but dirty old yuck! I can’t think of an industrial use for this mess, not even as poop-pourri. It’s truly that bad…and of course, unreturnable.

Smells wonderful…..just does not last long at all.
