Ceramic Flat Iron Gf1001 Unisex Flat Iron by CHI

The first Flat Iron we received (to give as a Christmas Gift) did not work at all. This made us very skeptical and worried that maybe these were counterfeit knockoffs. We were emailed an RMA mailing label for FedEx Ground and returned the defective unit. within 1 week we received a replacement that seems to be working fine so……..hopefully our experience with the first unit was a fluke and not typical of products from JUNGLE.

i had been using my moms same model chi straightener before it accidentally slammed against the counter top and stopped working a few months ago, and i just had to order the same chi model. It works FANTASTIC! it doesnt pull your hair like other flat irons and it leaves your hair shiny and straight. there is only one setting, off and on but the heat manages to fully straighten my curly hair very well. i flat iron my hair almost everyday and this product does not leave my hair looking gross like other flat irons. also it cuts the time of straightening it works so well. i will never stray away from chi flat irons. deffinitley reccomend this product.

I was worried when I got my new Chi due to all the reviews about the fake Chi’s being sold. I inspected this one from top to bottom comparing it to my original Chi that I bought probably 6-7 years ago. There were a few differences but when I went to the Farouk website, those changes were visible on their website Chi’s so I’m satisfied this is not a fake. When testing it, it heated quickly. It moved through my hair easily while doing a great job with straightening. The only difference that I do not like is that it is a 35W instead of 40W like my old Chi. Also, when Amazon advertises that it is an ionic product it is misleading. No where on the original Chi does it say it is ionic. There is however, an ionic iron made by infraTECH by Chi. It is not this one.I think this Chi will do fine. I can only hope the product wasn’t cheapened and will last as long as my first one. This was bought from Customer First through Amazon. They were very fast in their delivery.

I’ve had a CHI for years and finally, after 6 years of use, mine died. So I ordered a new CHI online and thought I was getting an awesome deal for paying $50 for a CHI. Wrong. The quality is just not there. It’s not TERRIBLE, but it’s not great. The flat iron is much lighter than a normal CHI so it felt really different in my hand when straightening my hair. That could have just been me, but that could have been poor knock-off design. Not sure.Unfortunately I only got to use this for a little over a week before the power started going out. The LED would shut off like it was an electrical issue from the cable or something.Good thing is how quickly and easily my return was. Full refund, which made my day. I took that refund and went straight to ULTA and purchased a REAL CHI like I should have in the beginning.

do not buy this item, it’s fake it’s not the real one, it worked only for two months and broke..the seller wont exchange it or replace it, it feels so much like a scam, when you compare it to a real one you can tell the difference..the brand label on the top part start coming off after two months of use, my friend has a real one she had it for two years that label is still there, also her hair iron still works.

Stopped working in 3 months

Waited nearly two years to write this review… my gf loves it and it has outlasted all of her other straighteners far beyond it’s life expectancy… great product, highly recommend it.

This CHI iron was as expected from the brand, and was a replacement for a very old CHI model and another brand of straight iron that was consistently snagging my hair and burned my hands when I didn’t use gloves. This CHI seemed to be just the right temperature (392) for smooth, straight locks, but didn’t burn my hands when I used it (without gloves), and it didn’t burn my hair. I didn’t really have any of the issues with the cord as some other reviewers (it is long, but it didn’t get in my way). I would recommend this iron for anyone. My hair is very long and very thick, and I’m able to flat iron all of it (when hair has completely dried) in about 20 minutes. Do note that there is no temp control (just one temp – 392), but that seems to be the sweet spot, heat wise, to do the job without burning. Key is to go through each strand quickly twice.

This model of CHI flat iron was provided for use at the resort we visited in Jamaica. I loved it so much that I ordered one for myself before we even left to return home! It heats up immediately and is so quick to finish off my hair. I love it.

Perfect replacement for the 2350dn printer

This is the second Chi hair straightener I have owned. The first one died after 6 or 7 years of regular use so I didn’t hesitate to buy another. It heats up very quickly, glides through your hair with ease and holds the heat so you don’t have to take breaks while doing your hair to let it get hot again. It’s also small enough that it isn’t taking up too much room in your bathroom but large enough that you can get a good amount of hair in each swipe. I highly recommend this straightener for anyone who wants to be able to tame their hair in a matter of minutes.

Excellent to have received it quickly as my original Chi was not working. This one heats up much quicker than my old one and I like the handle with the nonslip coating on the outside less chance of dropping it. Straightens my hair in less time than the old Chi.

If you have 4c hair DO NOT get this dryer!!! It only goes up to one temperature and it is NOT hot enough to straighten your hair! I’m not happy with the results. It doesn’t even straighten bundles. Do not waste your money.

This straightener is great and durable. I accidentally dropped it a few times and it hasn’t broken. It heats up to a good temperature where it doesn’t damage you hair.

I had a chi straightener for almost 20 years that I’ve somehow misplaced or left behind on travel (cries). This one is exactly the same, obv a lot has changed since then in their design. The same gold colored ceramic plants, swivel cord connector, and heat retention I loved though. I don’t know why people are saying it’s poorly made or cheap. In my opinion it is not. I have medium thin wavy/frizzy hair and I use this to gain and sleek my hair, so maybe someone who has super thick very curly hair who’s trying to grab too much at once would have some issue with it but in that case they should section off smaller pieces of bar to work with. Even a heavier duty straightener will work better and require the same method. Any who I like this. The box is nice enough I can store it in there so that’s cool.

Everything you want in a good flat iron is in this one. It’s a good size, great for travel(which I do), and heats quickly. The only issue I have with this one is the same problem I have with a lot of flat irons. The off switch being between the plates. Sticking your fingers between the plates to turn off a heated up iron is not a great idea. Not enough to take a star away but it could be better.
